Spanish Elementary Survey for the 2020-2021 school year Estamos recopilando datos para ayudar en la planificación del año escolar 2020-21. Complete la siguiente encuesta una por familia antes del jueves 11 de junio. Aprendizaje en el sitio - El objetivo actual para el aprendizaje en el sitio se parecería a un entorno escolar tradicional con prácticas de seguridad adicionales establecidas. Los estudiantes asistirían a un día completo de instrucción, 5 días a la semana. En el caso de otro cierre de la escuela, el nuevo contenido de nivel de grado continuará a través del aprendizaje remoto. Esto no será como el trabajo anterior de AMI. We are going to have our annual Book Character Parade! It will be posted in video format on our FaceBook page on May 18th. Please submit a picture of your child dressed as a book character to darla.taylor@ rsdk12.net by May 15th. Don’t forget to include what character your child is dressed as in the email. Thank you!

Just a reminder...OHE will have an AMI pick up Monday, April 20 from 7:30-5:30. You may drop off completed packets, pick up kindergarten registration packets, and return library books. Don’t forget...Kindergarten and Pre-K packets are now available to pick up in front of the school Just look for the sign under the awning. There is also a black locked mailbox you may put your completed packet in. Registration packets are due by May 1st.

All RSD on campus instruction has been cancelled for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Off campus-Online AMI instruction will continue with more information to be released at a later date. If you have questions pertaining to your student’s AMI instruction contact their school office between the hours of 9 a.m. to 1p.m.

From the office of the Superintendent, Dr. Gotcher-​Things you need to know for Thursday, April 2, 2020 1. School bus meal deliveries will have a new schedule beginning next week. Starting April 6, buses will run on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. For more information contact the office of child nutrition at 479.498.8836. 2. Playgrounds are closed effective immediately per our local and state governing officials orders to prevent groups gathering together and ultimately stop the spread of Covid-19. 3. Mental Health and Wellness is a priority during a time of crisis. A note from Superintendent Dr. Mark Gotcher; 5 things you need to know for Monday, March 30, 2020- 1. Beginning tomorrow, March 31, all RSD offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 2. ​Students will be contacted by their teacher or a staff member from their school with information regarding existing and future AMI tasks. *If you have questions, please contact your student's school during office hours. ​3. Meal distribution will continue its regular schedule with buses leaving the elementary schools at 9:30 a.m. delivering both breakfast and lunch. Families can receive a hot breakfast at any elementary school from 7 - 8 a.m., and a hot lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 4. Seniors will be contacted by RHS staff with guidance regarding graduation requirements and other important information. If you or your student have questions please contact the high school during office hours. 5. Again, we want to urge our students and families to follow the guidelines given to us from the Department of Health that include social distancing of at least six feet, no more than 10 people gathered together, frequent hand washing, sneezing into an elbow, and please if you feel sick- stay home! We hope everyone enjoyed their spring break!

Gov. Asa Hutchinson has announced K-12 public schools in Arkansas will remain closed for on-site instruction until April 17, 2020, it will then be re-evaluated by the public health conditions at the time.

Families can pick up their breakfast and lunch at local RSD elementary schools, and bagged dinners at The Boys & Girls Club each day. Boys & Girls Club are serving to-go dinners for families from 10:30-12:30 everyday for your convenience- our hopes are you only have to get out once a day to get both lunch and dinner from both locations. Breakfast is available at each elementary school from 7 a.m.to 8 a.m. Lunch is available at each elementary school from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dinner is available at the Boys and Girls Club from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. River Valley Food 4 Kids will distribute an evening pick up from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at their warehouse, 407 N El Paso Ave., Russellville, AR. RSD will continue delivering breakfast & lunch on the local bus routes beginning at 9:30 a.m. We are urging parents and students to please be visible to meet your bus so we won’t miss you.

NEW Very Important Information DISTRICT on meals! We are adjusting the times for the remainder of this week for meal delivery by school bus. Starting tomorrow, Wednesday the 18th, buses will leave each elementary school at 9:30 am and deliver both breakfast and lunch. Parents and students-please do your best to be visible to meet your bus so we won’t miss you!!! If you do miss the bus, you can always call the Central Office at 968-1306 and we will arrange for someone to deliver a meal for you. Meals are for both secondary and elementary students and their families! Thank you to all of our staff and volunteers who continue to impress us with their devotion to our students!

Parents may pick up daily medications kept at school.

RSD, River Valley Food 4 Kids, and the Boys & Girls Club have partnered to provide meals ​while school is closed. Meals will be boxed/bagged and distributed 'drive-thru' style!
