Russellville School District proudly announces that Ms. Shavon Jackson, Principal of Crawford Elementary School, has been named the 2025 Arkansas Association of Elementary School Principals (AAESP) Elementary Principal of the Year.
Ms. Jackson started as Principal of Crawford in 2017. Ms. Jackson is known for her commitment to student success, innovative leadership, and dedication to ensuring a positive and enriching learning environment. Under her leadership, Crawford Elementary has been named a 2023-2024 Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase School, achieved High Reliability School Level 1 certification, and earned the High Effective School Accreditation—all reflecting her leadership in creating a safe, supportive, and high-achieving school environment. Additionally, Crawford Elementary School was honored as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2020, a prestigious recognition for its commitment to academic excellence and student success. Adding to this achievement, Ms. Shavon Jackson was awarded the Terrel H. Bell National Blue Ribbon Principal Distinction, celebrating her outstanding leadership and dedication to education.
"I am honored to receive this award. I am blessed to lead the most amazing students and staff. Crawford is a special place, and I have grown as a leader as a result of our school community's commitment to helping students learn and grow at high levels," shared Ms. Shavon Jackson.
RSD Superintendent Dr. Ginni McDonald commented, "It is a privilege to work with principals like Ms. Jackson. Her leadership with students and staff makes her deserving of this recognition. She will have the opportunity to be a voice for principals across Arkansas."
Ms. Jackson's ability to inspire and empower those around her has made a lasting impact on the school and district.
