Reese Austin, a bright and inquisitive fourth-grader at Sequoyah Elementary, was honored at the RSD School Board meeting for her exceptional critical thinking skills. Known for her curiosity and determination, Reese approaches every challenge with a positive attitude and a sharp mind. An avid reader, she is currently devouring the eighth book in the Wings of Fire series—one of her favorites—proving that her love of reading fuels her ability to analyze, question, and think deeply.
When asked what she loves most about coming to school, Reese shared, “I like coming to school every day and getting to see my teachers because they always greet me with a smile.”
Her principal, Mrs. Romona Cheneval, nominated her. Mrs. Cheneval said, “Reece is naturally curious and a very capable problem solver. She asks thoughtful questions, analyzes situations, and explores solutions both in academics and daily life. She understands rules, fairness, and the importance of helping others.”
Reese was recognized at the January Board meeting for exemplifying Critical Thinking, a key attribute from the Profile of the RSD Graduate—a framework that defines the essential skills and qualities students develop by the time they graduate.
Great job, Reese! Thank you for being an excellent example for your fellow students!
