Emma Morris is a sophomore at Russellville High School and was celebrated at the School Board meeting for being an Empathetic Leader. Emma shows what it means to be an empathetic leader both in and out of the classroom. As an athlete in cross country and track, Emma is known for motivating others and supporting her teammates with her encouraging, kind words. Emma is also actively involved in Cyclone Broadcasting as a Switcher or Technical Producer, where she demonstrates her creativity and teamwork skills. She loves brainstorming ideas for shows and collaborating with classmates to bring those ideas to life.
When asked why it’s important to be empathetic with others, Emma said, “It's important to be empathetic when interacting with others because it creates positive relationships. If someone isn't empathetic, it can negatively impact the relationship because they may believe you are closed off and don't care or aren’t paying attention to what they say.”
Emma Morris was recognized at the December Board meeting for being an Empathetic Leader. This recognition comes from the Profile of the RSD Graduate, which outlines the attributes RSD graduates will encompass when they graduate.
Great job, Emma! Thank you for being an excellent example for your fellow students!
